Merrymount Association's Skating Rink

A special thank you to the Rink Crew for assembling the framework and getting the area filled. The frame has been built. The liner has been laid. The water has been pumped in.We are asking parents to PLEASE tell their children to stay off the ice until the rink crew says it is solid. Once the "Yellow Caution" tape that surrounds the rink has been taken down & the nets are out, that will be the signal that it is ready. 

                                                              ** HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL CHILDREN **

Our annual Merrymount Association Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 1 @ 7:00pm. We will introduce the new officers and members to our board and say "Thank You" to those who have stepped down and/or retired from their positions. We will be discussing the past years' accomplishments and also talk about the upcoming events & projects for 2012. We will also have some elected officials speaking in regards to our neighborhood and Quincy as a whole. Light refreshments will be served. This is a great opportunity to show your support for those who work so hard year round in making Merrymount such a great place to live.
We hope to see a great turnout.

Merrymount's Good Neighbor Award
2011 - Q4

Michelle Keegan has been awarded the fourth "Good Neighbor Award" from the Merrymount Association. Her dedication and support for her neighbors have been expressed by their numerous nominations. The nominations below are just a few examples of her caring actions. 

"The neighbors on Moreland and Longwood wanted to nominate Michele Keegan for the good neighbor award for all that she does for the neighborhood to make it a great place to live! "

"Michelle is one of those people who is always willing to go out her way for you. She is always willing to watch my kids when I'm in a jam, and has taken care of our pets and watch the house while we are away. She will do that little extra for those of us in the neighborhood."

"...what stands out most in my mind and the minds of others, is her sense of awareness that lead to the capture and arrest of an unwelcomed burglar who entered the home of a family that had just moved into the neighborhood. After noticing some unusual activity that was not within the norm, from an unfamiliar individual, she promptly called Quincy Police. Upon arrival, noticing a point of entry in the rear of the house, the officers found, with the assistance of the Quincy K-9 Unit, the perpetrator within the house. This is the kind of example that can improve and enhance our neighborhood safety."

    Each quarter a new recipient will be named. If you would like to nominate a neighbor, please fill out the information below and hit submit. A certificate, newsletter & website recognition, along with a gift card prize will be awarded to each quarterly recipient.

Be a part of where you live! Join the Merrymount Association and support the greatest neighborhood in Quincy. Dues are not only used to organize and support the many family events that are held throughout the year, but also to maintain the private beach areas. 

Applications for a membership to The Merrymount Association may be obtained by either mailing back the form that you will be receiving at your mailing address, by clicking on the "Membership" tab, downloading the membership form & following the instructions listed on the form itself or making online payments through our new online payment system. Communication Is Key

Last year’s goal of improving communication has been met, yet there is always room for improvement.  We hope our newsletters have been well received as well as our updated website.  Emails containing upcoming events have increased and this year we mailed the annual bills for our membership drive in hopes of insuring that all Merrymount residents are included.  If you wish to volunteer for any upcoming events, to be a street captain or to suggest a new event or fundraiser, feel free to contact any of the board members listed in this newsletter or email merrymountquincy@verizon.net .
